There will be A Special Meeting of the Peru Town Board in the meeting room at the Town of Peru Town Hall Building, 3036 Main St, Town of Peru, NY on the 5th of October, 2026 at 5:30 P.M
The purpose of the Special Meeting is to present the 2027 Tentative Budget to the Town Board.
Planning Board Meeting: Wednesday, October 14 at 6:00PM AGENDA
Town Board Meeting: Thursday, October 15 at 6:00PM
A
Resolution will be considered by the Town Board of the Town of Peru,
Clinton County, New York on October 15, 2026 to authorize the
reconstruction of the Lyons Road and Westcott Road culvert crossings at
an estimated maximum cost of $4,334,157 and authorizes the levy of a
tax for the project in an amount not to exceed $4,334,157 which shall
be levied and collected in annual installments in such years and in
such amounts as may be determined by the Town Board and that in
anticipation of the collection of such tax, bonds and notes of the Town
are authorized to be issued at one time, or from time to time, in the
principal amount not to exceed $4,334,157 and a tax is authorized to
pay the interest on said obligations when due. Under the Local
Finance Law, the Project has a period of probable usefulness of thirty
(30) years. This meeting is open to the public and will take
place at the Town of Peru Town Hall, 3036 Main Street at 6PM.

development reviews continue smoothly when regular board members are absent or recused due to
conflicts of interest.

The
Little Ausable River Trail
The
Town of Peru has built a chip seal paved trail to offer residents and
visitors an opportunity to enjoy a variety of healthy outdoor
activities within a beautiful and varied natural environment. The trail
will also protect and interpret the important historic sites of
Heyworth/Mason Park and a section of the D&H rail line, both
instrumental to the Town’s development.
The
trailhead is
in Heyworth/Mason Park just off Mason Hill Rd in the hamlet of Peru.
With
parking, benches, picnic tables, historic interpretive signage and a
beautiful 1836 stone mill, it’s a great place to start your
adventure. The trail covers 1.25 miles, from Heyworth/Mason
Park
to the entrance to Sullivan Park on Route 22. You can then
use
the sidewalk to connect back to the trailhead, for a 2.25 mile loop.

It’s an
interesting trip with massive cottonwoods, a planted pine forest, open
fields
and the
river.
It seems to be an excellent birding site as well. We now have
several benches installed. Enjoy!
