The Organization:
In the mid 1970’s; a handful of civic minded individuals met to discuss the need for
housing for Senior Citizens in Peru, New York. In 1980; the plans and construction were
completed, and Apple Valley Senior Housing was officially opened.
A board of 9 Executive and over 50 Corporate Members direct and oversees the
corporation. The members of both boards are residents of the Town of Peru and
surrounding areas.
Executive board meetings are held monthly, while the corporate board meetings are
held annually.
